Solid stone for a base layer. I put down 6 tons under a new gravel parking pad and it packed in nicely with the plate compactor before I topped it with smaller stuff. Only gripe is the delivery window. I was told morning and the truck showed up around four, so I lost most of a Saturday waiting. Material itself was clean, very little dirt mixed in.

Grading a low spot behind the house that flooded every storm. Dug it out, laid fabric, and spread 3 tons of this crushed gravel as the drainage layer. Rakes out fine if you have a strong back, it is heavy stuff. Two storms since and the area is dry. Dropped exactly on the tarp I laid out at the end of the driveway.

We ordered 12 tons of the 1 1/2 inch crushed gravel to rebuild the lane back to our barn after a wet spring turned it to soup. The bigger stone bit right into the soft spots and stopped moving once the tractor rolled over it a few times. Driver called about twenty minutes out and backed the dump truck right up to the stakes I had set. Water runs off now instead of pooling.
